So we took a day excursion to Interlaken. We started at the Schuh Chocolatier. We went to a chocolate show and had fresh made truffles and other delightful tasty bits of heaven. It was sooo good. And all their chocolates are hand made by apprentices that have been studying the art of chocolate making for 3 years. Our host who was conducting the show was Swiss, and she reminded me of my cousin Elizabeth. So now I've decided that Elizabeth would make an excellent chocolatier. The apprentices have a final project that is entered into a contest and they give out medals to the winners like the olympics. The entire sculpture can only be made by chocolate and sugar. This lady was the gold medal winner for this year
After the show we sat down in the restaurant - the chocolatier shares a building with this beautiful hotel and restaurant - and had some hot chocolate. But it wasn't just any hot chocolate, it was hot milk with a big ass chunk of chocolate down in it. Wow! It was delicious. Needless to say after we came out of there, we were all a bit giddy. Helen Storrow, the founder of Our Chalet, wanted to find a site to find peace for her soul for the Chalet. Boy did she miss it, it is at the Schuh Chocolatier for sure.
After we were all orgasmic from the morning, we piled into the van and headed to Trummelbach Falls. On the way there, the guests flipped out about this one waterfall shooting out of the side of a mountain. We about died trying to pull over to get some pictures of it. Americans are very pushy when they want to be. But it was an amazing sight, and I'm glad we stopped.
Then back on track to Trummelbach Falls. It's a series of 10 waterfalls enclosed in this cave. It was beautiful, but reminded me of Ruby Falls and so I wasn't too much in awe. I can guess it would be amazing if you'd never seen anything like it. The guests really liked it.
After that we had a wonderful picnic out in the sun, it was one of the first days on program that Sidsel and I had sunshine. Then back to Interlaken to do a little shopping. I was shopped out, so I spent most of my time in the wool store with Jennamari and then the post office. But did have time to meet this lovely lady sitting on the bench. She didn't have much to say, but it was a nice visit.
